ExtraWare for Vision provides a suite of programs that provide some additional functionality beyond that intrinsically available within the InPractice Systems general practice software suite.

There are several programs of varying complexity that help you:

• Free Text Read Search
• Repeat prescribing review and recall
• Appointment monitoring by clinician and slot type
• nGMS Reminder Trigered Recall Letters (updated for QoF 2006)
• Drug use by therapeutic groups (for acutes and repeats)
• Practice consultation rates and computer use
• Summary check for repeat masters
• Influenza immunization recall labels
• PMA Report compiler for insurance companies

• Free Text Read Search
• Dusty - finds old possibly unused data files
• eGFR - Adds eGFR and CKD Staging for creatinine results
• LabelPrint - a more versatile label printer than that within Vision

These programs are writen by a Vision using general practitioner indepedantly of In Practice Systems and are thus not supported by their help line services. However the intrinsic quality and care with which they were written have persuaded InPS to provide access to their own API (programatic access module) that allows my programs to not only read your practice database files but also to write safely directly to them. Several programs take advantage of this to make Vision entries such as the Prescription Reviewer which will enter a Medication Review code for you for each review form printed as well as nGMS Recall that records each letter sent and, once 3 have been sent, enters the relevant exception code.
